Principal's Message

Sean Maguire
Catalina Elementary Families,

Our Catalina family is winding down with 2021, another year will soon begin - welcome 2022! I hope everyone has a chance to relax and enjoy some quality time with family and friends over the holiday season. The start of school, after a significant break, always provides a good opportunity to re-establish a focus on learning. The new year will bring renewed sense of energy and dedication. We continue to be dedicated to meeting the needs of every student at Catalina Elementary.

As we begin a new semester, student attendance is critical to the success of your child.  We have seen a significant correlation in assessment data and grades linked to absences and tardies.  I also encourage you to monitor your student’s grades on Skyward.  This online grade book is an effective way to track/monitor your student’s progress in class.  If you have any questions regarding an assignment or grade, please contact your child’s teacher.  This communication is a two-way street; the administration encourages our teachers to make contact with the parents as well.  Research shows that having continued dialog between parents and teachers has a significant impact on improvement and success for students.

The following are upcoming events in January 2022:

Monday, January 3rd No School for Students (Teacher Workday)

Friday, January 17th Class picture day
